Bar Dispenser

(Maitre'D 2002, and later versions of Maitre'D)

Maitre' D Bar interface

The Maitre'D system can be interfaced with the Berg Infinity system, the Azbar bar system or the XML export (Scanabar).

Hardware setup

Berg:

Connect the Berg Infinity unit plug J902 (RS-232C) to a workstation serial port using a Null modem cable. The Berg unit should be loaded with the POS Interface software supplied by your Berg dealer.

Note: An Auper system emulates Berg at a Baud rate of 2400.

Azbar: Model AZ-200

Ask your Azbar dealer for the cable needed to connect the Azbar unit PRN plug to a serial port and connect this cable to a workstation serial port. The Azbar unit should be loaded with the POS Interface protocol software, supplied by your Azbar dealer.

Azbar North-American

Azbar has a permission file to let the Bar dispenser pour a shot only if it was ordered in Maitre'D first. To use this feature flag the option in System Configuration.

XML Export (Scanabar)

The export format will use XML files for sale transaction. These files are created in real time by the Back-Office when an order has been processed on any POS.

Section:

Set the section where this employee transaction will be reported. Each order by this employee will be reported in the programmed section, no matter the workstation the order is placed.

Key:

If you're using an Azbar system, you can also set the employee key number that this employee will use on the Azbar system. When the employee pours a drink from the Bar unit, the Azbar system will send the employee key used. When the employee is ordering a drink in the Maitre'D system, the key programmed here will be used to track how many pour and how many orders have been done.

Note: The Berg system does not use employee key number, so each pour will be tracked to employee 0 but if you set a key, the order in Maitre'D will be reported to this employee.

P.O.S. Control / Item Setup

On each pour, the Bar unit will send a PLU number to the Maitre' D workstation. This PLU number must be linked to a menu item. If the PLU is not linked to an item, the report will show the PLU number instead of the menu item description. Your Bar unit dealer should provide you a list of PLU number that will be sent by the bar unit for the different items poured.
