Here is the basic about internet connection.
Restaurant setup:
The Maitre'D DBF Converter must be install
Setup the Maitre'D Converter module
Install the Local Internet access
The e-Global Communication Client must be install
To have the store reach the Corporate Office computer through Internet, this means that the Corporate Office PC must be always connected to the Internet. In that type of connection, a firewall is needed to keep the Corporate Office intranet secure and the stores must use a TCP port to reach the Corporate Office server behind it.
For example let say that:
Corporate Office side
Corporate Office PC's
Use the IP address 192.168.1.100
The Communication server use the TCP port 700
Firewall PC's
Use the IP address 223.200.200.1 (this address is defined by the Internet connection provider).
Restaurant side
Store PC's
The Back-Office PC does not need a specific IP address for the Internet connection. An address will be assigned by the local Internet provider when it will connect to the net.
The only IP address that the store sees is the firewall IP address (223.200.200.100) so you define this address that will be reached when access the Internet.
Then the Communication client application will use TCP port (700 in our example) to reach the Corporate Office PC and the Communication server behind the firewall.
When the Communication Client reach Internet and find the Firewall PC, it also provide that PC with the TCP port to reach the Corporate Office PC. The Firewall will reroute the connection to the PC that have the IP address 192.168.1.100 to reach the Communication server application.
