Datacap Error Must Close Settle First

When this message appears, the information in the modem about the current batch is erroneous and must be cleared to resume normal operations.
Note: The same solution applies to the Batch Already Open error message.
To clear the modem you use a standard communication program, such as HyperTerminal, to send commands to the modem. You cannot send commands to the modem while the Maitre'D software is using the modem. You must first shut down the Maitre'D software before proceeding to the next step.

There are two commands to send to the modem.

First command:

Get the modem out of financial mode.

ATandUF1 0

Note the space between the 1 and the 0. You should get a 0 or an OK as an answer. At this point, the modem should respond to an AT command with a 0 or a OK. If you do not get an answer on the AT command, retry the ATandUF1 0 command again. If you do not see any answers to either commands make sure you are sending to the proper port and that your port settings are correct.

Second command:

Reset modem totals and batch status.

ATandUB6 * * * * *

Note that there are spaces between all the asterisks and between the first asterisk and the 6. If the modem answers starting with 200 C then the command was successful.
At this point you will be able to close a batch or open a new one.
Note that you do not loose information by resetting the financial data in the modem because all financial data is kept by the Maitre'D software and will be resent to the modem as needed.
