SC 5000 PIN Pad, or 91, for the Ingenico 3070 PIN Pad, followed by the
last 6 digits of the Serial Number on the back of the PIN Pad.
IMPORTANT: You have to restart the Maitre'D Server to make the workstation
update those settings.
Initialize the PIN Pad
When you plug the PIN Pad for the first time, you have to set the language
(English or French) and the communication type (rs232). The manager or
the Head Server has to initialize the PIN Pad. This option is available
from the function button on the workstation. The PIN Pad will call the
bank and will display a message at the end if the operation was successful.
NOTE: After an update you need to reinitialize each PIN Pad.
Operation procedures:
Payment by Debit Card:
When you are closing a check, at the Media Type screen you will have to
swipe the debit card of the customer in the card reader and you will have
to enter the right amount of the transaction and touch Enter to accept
the amount. Then the guest will have to answer the questions asked from
the PIN Pad. Maitre'D will print two debit card receipts of the transaction.
(It is important to know that you will not see the Debit Card button on
the Media Type screen because you are not allowed to enter transactions
manually).
Payment refund from a Debit Card
You need to do a table 0 void. From the Media Type screen, swipe the debit
card of the customer and enter the amount of the transaction to return,
then touch the negative sign - to show the amount in negative form. The
guest will have to answer the questions from the PIN Pad to complete the
transaction. Maitre'D will print two receipts.
Closing Batches
The debit card will be included in the "Other" category in the
EFT reports. The closing batch procedure is the same as the credit card
procedure.
