Delivery Print Dispatcher

(Maitre'D 8.00.000.057 and later versions of Maitre'D)

A Print Dispatcher screen can be used during peak hours to avoid overflowing the kitchen by controlling the output on printers. For example, a manager could have all the orders of a given zone of the External Order System (EOS) be prepared at the same time, while temporarily leaving other zones on hold.

Delivery delays can be used, and have priority over the print dispatcher, to avoid forgetting an order and leaving it on hold for too long.

Note: These delays are also taken into account when calculating the preparation time of Pre-Orders.

Print Dispatcher screen User Interface

The Print Dispatcher screen allows to control when each order will print in the kitchen. The screen displays all orders waiting to print.

When receiving a delivery or to go order (counter), Maitre'D prints the check (delivery or to go) and prints the kitchen chits for only some logical printers (Preparation). The order is then displayed on the dispatch screen. The employee assigned the task of print dispatcher can select one or many orders and have them print on the other logical printers. Once the order is printed in the kitchen, it disappears from the Print Dispatcher screen, and is transferred to on the Driver Dispatch screen.

The Printer Dispatcher screen is updated in real time without having to exit and reenter the screen.

The Print Dispatcher screen is displayed to all Driver Managers and screen includes the following areas:

 Information area

This area displays the following information:

Note: When the Print Dispatcher is used, that screen is the one displayed by default, and not the Driver Dispatch screen.

Orders area

The screen displays the orders chronologically on 3 columns, from top to bottom and left to right.

 Displayed Information

The information displayed for each order includes:

Order:

The order number assigned by Maitre'D

Time:

Time when the order was received by Maitre'D.

Note: For Pre-Orders taken a previous day, the time when the pre-order was imported is displayed.
For Pre-Recorded Orders taken the same day, the calculated preparation time is displayed as if it was the reception time.

Zone:

This is the Maitre'D delivery zone, or the zone transmitted by the EOS.

Counter Orders

Order To Go are treated differently when received by the print dispatcher.

Instead of the delivery zone name, the zone column contains the CPT abbreviation. Also, the order number is replaced by the clients phone number.

Orders from the Counter revenue center are not printed automatically after the preset delay. This is setup for each revenue center in the print dispatcher options.

Note: Orders pending in the Print Dispatcher are not displayed in the driver dispatch screen. Orders must be printed in the kitchen before being available in the driver dispatcher where they can be assigned to drivers.

Display Area Functions

Touch an order to select it or un-select it. Many orders can be selected at the same time.

The system can be setup to alert the dispatcher employee that some orders have been pending for too long a time. The screen displays such orders in red.
