Hardware and Software Requirements

(Maitre'D 2005)

Hardware

Maitre'D is setup to operate with numerous types of hardware and software configurations. The following describes the minimum requirements.

Back-Office computer :

Windows 98® Second Edition, Windows 2000® Professional SP4, Windows 2000® Server SP4, Windows XP® Professional SP1 or Windows 2003® Server operating system (*)
Intel Pentium processor recommended by Microsoft for the OS used. (Example: for Windows XP® Professional: PIII 450Mhz)
Memory recommended by Microsoft for the OS used. (Example: for Windows XP® Professional: 512 Mb Memory)
One (1) 3 ½ High Density floppy drive
One (1) CD-ROM 4X
One (1) 1GB hard disk properly partitioned and formatted to appear as drive C
One (1) Ethernet network card supporting at least 10 Base-T (100 Base-T recommended)
One (1) Ethernet HUB.
4 MB video card
One (1) 80 column report ink or laser

Touch screen workstation under Windows® operating system

Windows 98® Second Edition, Windows 2000® Professional SP4, Windows 2000® Server SP4 or Windows XP® Professional SP1 operating system (*)
Intel Pentium processor recommended by Microsoft for the OS used. (Example: for Windows XP® Professional: PIII 450Mhz)

(*): For optimal performance, Posera recommends using the Operating System Windows XP® Professional SP2 or higher.

Handheld workstation under Windows CE® operating system

Windows CE 3.0 Pocket PC 2002 using theses different types of CPU: ARM, X86
Windows CE 3.0 Pocket PC using theses different types of CPU: ARM, MIPS
Windows CE .NET using theses different types of CPU: ARM, MIPS, X86
64 Mb of Memory

Note: Windows Mobile is NOT supported at this time.

Windows workstations using Microsoft Windows XP Embedded®

The minimum services required are:

Network driver
OPOS drivers and any other services needed to run the devices.

Local and Remote Printer

You can use almost any kind of printer with at least 4K of memory. If you wish to use Citizen printers, please ensure that it uses STAR Emulation.
Use the PRINTER TYPE setup screen in P.O.S. Control / Workstation menu to create your own printer definition.
Recommended printers are:

EPSON TM85 / 88 (thermal) for guest checks printers
Star SP-342 (with paper cutter) for remote printers.

If you are not sure on a specific printer, call the Maitre'D Support Team.

Maitre'D can be installed on any networking system that uses or emulates the TCP/IP communication protocol. Please refer to the appropriate manuals for more information.
