Hardware and Software Requirements

(Maitre'D V8)

Hardware

Maitre'D is setup to operate with numerous types of hardware and software configurations. The following describes the minimum requirements.

Back-Office computer :

Windows XP® Professional SP2 or Windows Server 2003® SP2 Operating System (*)
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Workgroup edition & Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 (supplied)
Intel Pentium 4, 2 GHz processor (Dual Core recommended)
1 GB of RAM Memory (2 GB recommended)
DVD-ROM drive
Hard disk properly partitioned and formatted to appear as drive C with at least 10 GB of available space.
Ethernet network card supporting at least 10 Base-T (100 Base-T recommended)
Ethernet HUB.
Compatible Ethernet fat wireless network (Encrypted) in needed.
XGA (1024x768) 4MB video card and monitor
Mouse or compatible pointing device
80 column report printer

(*): Windows Vista® and Windows Server 2008® will be supported later.

Touch screen workstation under Windows® operating system

Windows 2000® Professional SP4 Operating System (Wiindows XP® Professional SP2 recommended)
Intel Pentium III 500 MHz processor (1.5 GHz recommended)
512 MB of RAM Memory
Hard disk properly partitioned and formatted to appear as drive C with at least 500 MB of available space.
Ethernet network card supporting at least 10 Base-T (100 Base-T recommended)
Super VGA 800x600. 4 MB video card
Touch screen monitor
Com ports (1,2,3 and 4 to setup more than two printers)

Windows workstations using Microsoft Windows XP Embedded® (WEPOS)

In addition to the requirements above, the following is also needed:

1 GB Flash Drive (2 GB recommended)
Network driver
OPOS drivers and any other services needed to run the devices.

Handheld workstation under Windows CE® operating system

Windows CE 3.0 Pocket PC 2002/2003 using theses different types of CPU: ARM, X86
Windows CE 3.0 Pocket PC using theses different types of CPU: ARM, MIPS
Windows CE .NET 4.0
Windows CE 5.0
Windows Mobile 2003 or above (5.0 and 6.0)

200 MHz processor (520 MHz recommended)
10 MB of free program memory (20 MB recommended)
32 MB of internal Memory or storage card (64 MB recommended)
Compatible Ethernet fast wireless network (Encrypted)
320x240 color display
Touch screen support

Local and Remote Printer

You can use almost any kind of printer with at least 4K of memory. If you wish to use Citizen printers, please ensure that it uses STAR Emulation.
Use the PRINTER TYPE setup screen in P.O.S. Control / Workstation menu to create your own printer definition.
Recommended printers are:

EPSON TM85 / 88 (thermal) for guest checks printers
Star SP-342 (with paper cutter) for remote printers.

If you are not sure on a specific printer, call the Maitre'D Support Team.

Maitre'D can be installed on any networking system that uses or emulates the TCP/IP communication protocol. Please refer to the appropriate manuals for more information.
