Hardware and Software Requirements

(Maitre'D 2002-2003)

Hardware

Maitre'D is setup to operate with numerous types of hardware and software configurations. The following describes the minimum requirements.

Back-Office computer :

Touch screen workstation under DOS operating system

(Note: No longer supported in Maitre'D 2005 and later)

Touch screen workstation under Windows operating system

Handheld workstation under Windows CE operating system

Windows workstations using Microsoft Windows XP Embedded

The minimum services required are:

Local and Remote Printer

You can use almost any kind of printer. For optimal performance, it is preferable to use printers with at least 4K of memory. If you wish to use Citizen printers, please ensure that it uses STAR Emulation.
Use the PRINTER TYPE setup screen in P.O.S. Control / Workstation menu to create your own printer definition.
Recommended printers are:
  1. EPSON TM85 / 88 (thermal) for guest checks printers
  2. Star SP-342 (with paper cutter) for remote printers.
If you are not sure on a specific printer, call the Maitre'D Support Team.

Windows 98®, Windows ME®, Windows NT® sp6 with explorer 5.5 or higher Windows 2000® operating system.

For instruction on formatting and partitioning the hard disk, installing Windows®, please refer to the appropriate manuals provided with Windows.

Maitre'D can be installed on any networking system that uses or emulates the Net BIOS or TCP/IP communication protocol. Please refer to the appropriate manuals for more information.
