The Maitre'D Corporate-Office Suite is a powerful package developed to
answer multi unit's food service operators. It allows them to receive
the different figures from all units at the frequency they desire. The
Corporate Communication Module (CCM) also gives them the availability
to manage the unit database remotely (PLU broadcasting, price changes,
recipe changes...).

Broadcaster
The main idea behind broadcaster is to make it possible to create Maitre'D
data update for multiple restaurants in a process that require modifying
only one Maitre'D data. As an example, let's suppose that the restaurant
corporate office wants to change the menu and price in all restaurants
in the chain. Without the Broadcaster, the only way to do it is, for the
corporate office to create / update their Maitre'D system with the proper
menu items, prices etc... then do a management copy. The resulting floppy
disk must be copied and sent to every restaurant by traditional mean,
namely mail. At the restaurant branch, someone must take this floppy and
do a management restore. This process is working correctly but there is
no way for the corporate office to know if the copy was installed and,
if so, at the proper date. Also, if there is a need to have a different
price for the same item in two or more restaurants, the data must be manipulated
and a set of management copy must be recreated for those ones, making
it time consuming to update many restaurants.
Database
The central database is where all figures reside. The Corporate Office
can decide the type of information they would like to receive from their
units. All files are in Dbase format and can be accessed using any off-the-shelf
software such as Crystal Report or Microsoft Access. The transferred files
are compressed to reduce the download time and can be encrypted when using
the Internet as a communication tool.

The communication program included in the Maitre'D Corporate Office Client
is fully integrated with the Maitre'D Back-Office application. The files
transfers could be programmed different ways (daily, weekly, monthly)
giving you flexibility. Here are some highlights of the communication
software and the different configurations available:
The transfer engine is a WIN32 application on the client and server
side fully compliant with the TAPI specification and using the Dial-Up
networking with a TCP/IP protocol stack.
Connection can be established directly to the Corporate Office
Server or by an Internet connection using any device supported by the
Windows operating system.
High scalability on the Corporate Office server
side by using multi-threaded technology to allow multiple simultaneous
client connections.
High integration with Maitre'D Back-Office application.
Bidirectional Data transfer so restaurant can
transfer data to the Corporate Office and receive automatically new data
for the P.O.S. workstation.
Automatic error recovery on connection breaks.
Analyzer
The CorporateOffice Analyzer is the newest software in the
Maitre D Advanced RMS / POS series. It allows corporation to manage multiple
units from a central database. Consolidated reports are available. Since
the CorporateOffice database files are in standard Dbase
format, in addition to the CorporateOffice Analyzer, you
can also use any off-the-shelf database tools to query the database. ODBC
compliant tools can also be used.
The query manager allows to customize and save any reports through the
use of custom queries. You can analyze the smallest piece of information
or view only a summary of selected stores.
Publish any report on the World Wide Web for true distributed reporting
capabilities. Managers are able to view HTML coded reports via the Internet
and Intranet.

The CorporateOffice Analyzer allows to see exception reports.
The purpose of these reports is to give information on critical points
for your enterprise. For example, it might not be of interest to see all
the void details for 500 restaurants. But if a restaurant makes more then
50.00$ of voids in a single day, you might want to know. You could do
the same for the food cost, labor cost...
Multiple database management
With a communication program like the one included in the Maitre D Corporate
Office Suite, the next logical step is to create software that
will give the multi-unit operators the flexibility to manage the different
remote locations database.
Each time a remote location will transfer their files to the Corporate
Office, it will look if there are some changes that need to be
downloaded. These changes could be prices, taxes, and recipe changes.
