Screen Saver Graphics on DOS Workstation
(Maitre'D 1999 to 2003)
DOS workstations can use standard Graphics Interchange Files (GIF) to
display advertising.
Note: DOS Workstations only.
- Name your GIFs 1.gif , 2.gif..., through 9.gif
- Copy those GIFs to the C:\Posera\MaitreD\Prg folder
- Redo your workstations boot disk and / or workstation
data.
- Reboot your workstations.
It is important to respect the following limits when setting up the
GIFs to insure that the workstation Data is loaded properly.
- The GIFs are displayed in numeric order, and if a
number is skipped, the following GIFs will not be displayed.
- On a workstation floppy, the space left for all GIFs
is limited by your options. First make a workstation floppy without any
GIFs present in the Maitre'D directory of the Central Computer, so you
can determine how much space is left.
- Use the lower amount between 200K or the space left
on the workstation floppy. If there is not enough room for all your GIFs,
you will have to remove some of them, or reduce their size by reducing
their resolution and color depth.
- An individual Gif of 256 colors is limited to 320x200
pixels. A 256 colors Gif larger then that is displayed in the upper left
corner, in a smaller size, and in a 16 colors approximation
- An individual Gif of 16 colors is limited to 640x480
pixels. A 16 colors Gif larger then that will get cut off.
