Maitre'D integrate Serial Printer manager devices

(Maitre'D 2002, and later versions of Maitre'D)

Using a port server, you do not need to pass wires from the Kitchen area to each individual workstation that is managing a remote printer. Instead, you only need one cable from the network hub to the port server in the kitchen area. Then each kitchen printer is connected to the port server. You can still connect some remote printer directly to workstation. For example, you could have the three kitchen printers (Grill, Appetizer and Expediter) connect to the port server and have the Bar printer connect to the workstation sitting at the bar.
