It is possible for a dining room employee to keep items currently selected but yet to be ordered so that they can leave the Point Of Sales and come back later without having to re-enter all those selections again.
When the employee touches the Park Table button, the items already selected but yet to be ordered are kept on file for the next time the employee accesses any workstation.
If other employees, other then a manager or head server, try to access a Parked table, even if no selected item is ordered yet, they will get a Park Table Reserved By Server # message, and will not be able to open it.
On the Floor Plan, a Parked table will be noted with an "H", for Held.
On the Table Verification screen, a Parked table will be noted with an "H", in the same color as a Released Table, as set in P.O.S. Control / Workstation / Table Color
If you try to perform the End Of Day, you will get an abortion message, unless you are using the 24 Hours Operation option.
When that employee then accesses any Point Of Sales, the Parked table is automatically offered.
If OK is touched, the kept items are displayed under the ordered item, if any, ready to be ordered, added to, modified or removed, as if the employee had not left the workstation.
In our example, the steak can then be added with the proper meat temperature, and ordered at the same time as the kept items so that they can better be synchronized in the kitchen.
If CANCEL was touched instead, the employee can choose any other table number.
Choose the Park Table command under the Other Commands type to allow dining room employees to put items currently selected but yet to be ordered on wait.
