System Architecture
(Maitre'D 2002, and later versions of Maitre'D)
In the following section, there is a description of the different directories
created by the installation program.
File Directories
- \POSERA\MAITRED\DATA:
This is the directory where the software stores the restaurant's data.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\PRG:
This is the directory where the software stores the program files.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\BACKUP:
This is the directory where the back up is being processed daily. This
directory contains a back up of the previous versions of the software
and a copy of the MEMOIRE.DAT file. The MEMOIRE.DAT file keeps a compressed
copy of all transactions entered from the workstations.
Under these directories, the installation program creates sub-directories:
- \POSERA\MAITRED\DATA\REBUILD:
This is a reference directory the software needs to rebuild the day
when necessary.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\DATA\WS…:
These are working directories used by different workstations.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\DATA\WSPRINT:
This directory contains all print jobs sent by the workstations.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\DATA\SUM:
This directory contains all sum files needed by the Report Center
- \POSERA\MAITRED\DATA\LOG:
This directory contains all the log files on Maitre'D operations.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\DATA\DBF:
This directory contains all the files with DBF extensions. The Report
Center module uses those files to generate reports.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\PRG\POSNET:
This directory is used to make a LAN boot disk when you are using an
Elographic workstation under DOS operating system.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\PRG\IBMNET:
This directory is used to make a LAN boot disk when you are using an
IBM 4695 workstation under DOS operating system.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\PRG\PANANET:
This directory is used to make a LAN boot disk when you are using a
Panasonic 9000 or Panasonic JS-160 workstation under DOS operating system.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\PRG\SHARPNET:
This directory is used to do an APLD when you are using a SHARP 880
workstation under DOS operating system.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\PRG\SHARP3CO:
This directory is used to do an APLD when you are using a SHARP workstation
with a 3com network card under DOS operating system.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\PRG\SHARPUP:
This directory is used to do an APLD when you are using SHARP 5700
workstation under DOS operating system.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\PRG\SHARDIAG:
This is a directory where you will find diagnostic utilities when you
are using certain SHARP workstation under DOS operating system.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\PRG\WSMSN:
This directory contains all common files needed to make a LAN boot
disk for the workstation under DOS operating system.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\PRG\RPT:
This directory stores report templates used by the Maitre'D Report
Centerto generate reports.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\PRG\SENTINEL:
This is the directory used to install the necessary drivers for the
software key.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\PRG\SETUP:
This directory is used to setup POS workstations that are running under
Windows operating system.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\BACKUP\DATA:
This directory contains the data after the last end of day.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\BACKUP\PRG:
This directory contains a backup of the program files of the current
version.This backup is done at the installation.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\BACKUP\REBUILD:
This directory contains a backup of the files used to rebuild the day
under the current version.This backup is done at the installation.
- \POSERA\MAITRED\BACKUP\PREVIOUS:
This directory contains Maitre'D' s previous version backup.
Files extensions and explanations
Below are the types of DOS extensions contained in the Maitre'D files and
their meanings.
- *.DAT
These are database files with the data you have configured for the
system.
- *.REM
These files are remarks about the system.
- *.PRG
These files are program prompts.
- *.TX
these files are used to make workstation boot disk, for workstations
running under DOS operating system.
- *.BAT
These are batch files.
- *.TXT
these are text files with information on new features and fixes.
- *.LOG
These are text files with Operation Traces or reporting errors.
- *.INI
These are initialization text files.
- *.EXE
These files are executable programs.
