I. Operator ID number. In the example we have the operator 40.
The channels of communication the information has to go through to get
an amount pre-authorized, finalized and sent to the customer account are
shown in the following diagrams. In the following we assume a table service
environment.
(Sends the command to send the transaction to the bank)
MODEM (Dials out and sends the information)
BANK
(Processes all transactions and sends back the response)
MODEM
(Receives the response and sends it to the Maitre Back-Office)
BACK-OFFICE
(Logs the information)
Take note:the number(s) in each arrow correspond to a type of error.
As you can see an errors starting with 1xx and 3XX occur before we can
reach the bank and an error starting with 2XX comes from the bank.

NETWORK RESPONSE ERROR
These errors indicate the clearinghouse refused the operation.
This error message appears in the C:\Posera\MaitreD\Data\Log\EFTxx.Log
The bank is refusing the batch because it corresponds to a batch
# already received.
To increment the batch # you can use Windows HyperTerminal
application. From the HyperTerminal application, type the command ATandUF1
0 and press ENTER to bring it out of financial mode. Note that there is
a space between 1 and 0 at the end of the command. Then issue ATandUB7

This error message appears in the C:\Posera\MaitreD\Data\Log\EFTxx.Log
The bank is refusing the batch because one transaction is incorrect
You can call the bank to find out which transaction
the bank is refusing or remove the last one appearing on the Datacap report
just before the error message.
Removing the last transaction may not always get
your batch to close. You can print the current batch under Maitre'D \
EFT \ report \ current batch and then go under Windows explorer and backup
file 109.dat to 109.old. Then under Maitre'D \ Database \ file \ New \
file: 109 and record set at 0. You have to re-enter all transaction manually.
We suggest you enter 10 transactions at a time and then close a batch.
OPERATION ERROR
These errors occur when the user is inadvertently entering illegal data
or following an illegal procedure.
An attempt was made to process a transaction, but the batch was already
closed.
Make sure the transaction you are accessing belongs
to the current or suspended batch and that you are trying to access the
appropriate batch
If you are trying to give a customer credit, use
the Maitre'D \ EFT \ Transaction \ Return transaction.
You must open a batch from the Maitre'D EFT \ File
\ Open Batch the first time you use the Maitre'D EFT module. Then, when
you close a batch, Maitre'D opens a new batch automatically. If not, contact
your Maitre'D support department.
There is no batch open in the system and therefore no transaction can be
processed until a batch is open.
You must open a batch from the Maitre'D EFT \ File
\ Open Batch the first time you use the Maitre'D EFT module. Then, when
you close a batch, Maitre'D opens a new batch automatically. If not, contact
your Maitre'D support department.
An attempt was made to open a batch but a batch was already opened.
You cannot open a batch if you already have a batch
opened.
You have to open a batch only the first time you
use the Maitre'D EFT module. Then, when you close a batch, Maitre'D opens
a new batch automatically. If not, contact your Maitre'D support department.
The user tries to modify a transaction previously entered and the transaction
cannot be found.
Retry the transaction
Make sure the user is not trying to access a transaction
that belongs to a closed batch.
Pull the current batch report from the Maitre'D \
EFT \ Report.
The manager should pull an open table reading at
the workstation. If the transaction is still opened, make sure the user
is accessing the correct invoice and / or table. The user may have to
pre-authorize the transaction again.
If the transaction is nowhere to be found, the user
must re-enter it.
The user tries to send a transaction already considered received by the
bank.
The user should verify that the transaction was not
duplicated by pulling a current batch report from Maitre'D \ EFT \ Report.
The user should make sure no other batch was closed
during the current day of operation.
You can also search the Maitre'D check (invoice)
to find out to which media type it was closed. To do so, go to Maitre'D
\ Report center \ File \ New \ Invoice-Media \ Invoice Search. It is also
possible that the customer came twice to the restaurant and that the checks
total are identical. It the customer paid with the same credit card both
times, the user will have to force the transaction.
