Before you try to start to local workstation or connect any workstation
on the network, you will need to make the following changes in your Windows
98 and ME computer
My Computer / Control Panel / Network
In the network setup, you need to have the following:
Client
For Microsoft Network
Ethernet
adapter
NetBEUI
TCP /
IP
File
and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Network
Note: Be sure to remove the IPX / SPX - Compatible protocol
Step by step instructions to set up the drivers listed above:
1.Select: Add / Client / Add / Microsoft / Client for Microsoft
Networks
2.Select: Add / Protocol / Add / Microsoft / NetBEUI
3.Select: Add / Protocol / Add / Microsoft / TCP / IP
4.Select: Add / Service / Add / Microsoft / File and Printer Sharing
for Microsoft Networks
5.Select: OK to apply and save
6.Select File and Printer Sharing and turn on the following:

want to be able to give others access to my files
I
want to be able to allow others to print to my printer(s)
Then choose Client For Microsoft Network and click on the IDENTIFICATION
tab
Computer
Name = MAITRED (uppercase)
Workgroup
= PSI (uppercase)
My Computer
In MY COMPUTER, you will need to share your C:\POSERA directory. To do
so, Right click on the icon representing your C:\POSERA directory. Click
on SHARING and choose SHARE AS. The Share Name must be MAITRED (uppercase).
Access type must be FULL.
