End Of Day Inventory Quantities Posting

(Maitre'D 2005, from Service Pack 1 and later versions of 2005)

Inventory Management

You can recalculate all Inventory Posting Quantities during the End Of Day process. This allow for more precision when using very small fractions in recipes. Let's say you buy vegetable oil by barrels of 50 gallons, but count it in inventory by gallons, and use it muffins by the ounce. The cost of the vegetable oil in an individual muffin could be a mere 0.00002 of a gallon, with an inherent calculation error. If you sell thousands of muffins a day, this error could come up to a quart of a gallon, for example. Using the EOD Inventory Posting method will make the calculated quantity of the vegetable oil used more precise, since it is based on the total quantity sold.
First, all sales quantities used during the day are un-posted from the inventory. Second, all sales quantities are cumulated by mode and revenue center. Third, these quantities are resent to the inventory post engine using the total multiplied quantity.

To enable this precision, under the C:\Posera\MaitreD\Data directory, in the [Miscellaneous] section of the Bo.ini file, add the following configuration key and value:

EodInventory=True

Note: When modifying the Bo.ini, first stop the Server through Server Control, then exit both the Server Control and P.O.S. Control modules, modify the Bo.ini Configuration Key and Value, and only then start the Server again before redoing workstation data.
