Distributor Demo Package

(Maitre'D 2002, and later versions of Maitre'D)
Before you install the Maitre'D Back-Office software for Windows®, be sure to read this section first. It will guide you through the installation process and you will be up and running in no time!
For an optimum performance, you will need to install the software on a Pentium 266 MHz PC or better. The Maitre'D Back-Office software is a 32-bit application, it will only run with Windows XP Professional (SP2) and above.
The next step is to install the Maitre'D software. Refer to the Installing the Maitre'D Software section in this document.
Once the installation is completed, verify that all the drivers and setup required in Windows. If needed, also go through the section on installing the Maitre'D Software on a Laptop.

Before you start the Local Workstation option, you will first need to build the data file for the workstation.
In Server Control
  1. Select the Workstation menu
  2. Select the Make Data option. The workstation disk screen displays as shown:
  3. Select the Local Workstation option and click on OK. The program builds the data files and prompts to restart the workstation for the changes to take effect. You do not need to restart the workstation because it was never started!
  4. At this point you should be able to click on the Local Workstation icon to start the workstation.

The following are brief descriptions of the employees, setup in the demo program.

Employee # Function Description
1 Table server This employee function is used for a "Regular Server" in a table service restaurant. Open, Send, Print and Close checks. In the demo program, this employee works in the Dinning Room menu.
2 Bar Server This employee function performs similar to regular servers, however this employee cannot open / assign tables. The "Bar Server" employee function permits access to the Cash Bar operations. This type of configuration may be used for employees who are taking orders on the floor and picking up their orders at the bar. In the demo program, this employee works in the Bar menu.
3 Fast-Food This employee function is used for "Fast-Food" employees who are required to place orders quickly and in rapid succession, normally closing all transactions. Checks are programmed to print by request only using the Print Last Check feature. In the demo program, this employee works in the take-out menu.
4 Order / Drive-Thru Performs similar to the fast-food server, however, the "Order Taker" can open tables. An order taker may be programmed to have access to all tables open in order mode. The drive-thru feature is only available for employees with the order function. The system uses the FIFO method to recall the orders in the queue. In the demo program, this employee works in the take-out menu.
5 Delivery This employee function is used for taking delivery orders using the telephone number and requires an AT keyboard. In addition, the "Delivery" employee may modify existing delivery information and pre-order. In the demo program, this employee works in the Delivery menu.
6 Delivery Driver This employee function is used for picking up delivery orders. In the demo program, the "Delivery Driver" employee works in the Delivery menu.
7 Bartender This employee function performs similar to regular servers. In addition, the "Bartender" employee function permits access to the Cash Bar operations. This type of configuration may be used for employees who work behind the bar in a nightclub. In the demo program, this employee works in the Bar menu.
8 Head Server This employee function performs similar to a server. In addition, the "Head Server" function can access other server's tables. In the demo program, this employee works in the Dinning Room menu.
9 Cashier This employee function is used in a restaurant that uses central cashier / cashier banking. The "Cashier" employee function is used for closing checks printed by the server w / cashier by entering the last four digits of the guest check. In the demo program, this employee works in the Dinning Room menu.
10 Manager This employee function performs activities that are designed to facilitate customer service and restaurant management, however this employee cannot open tables. The "Manager" employee function may be used to perform employee and global sales report readings, voids, collects employee deposits, reprogram the touch screen, change prices etc. Access to the special menu (FUNCTION) is configured in the employee configuration. Removing the check mark in the individual functions may restrict access to the various manager functions. In the demo program, this employee works in all areas of the restaurant.
11 Hostess Used in conjunction with the Maitre'D Floor Management program, the "Hostess" employee function manages the sections of the restaurant. Including table verification, floor plan, section assignment, smoking status, number of customers seated, and seating availability. In the demo program, this employee works in the Dinning Room menu.
15 Five Functions An employee may be programmed with up to five different employee functions each using different configurations and different access. In the demo program, this employee works in all areas of the restaurant.
20 Server w / Cashier This employee function is used in a restaurant that uses central cashier / cashier banking. The "Server w / Cashier" employee function is used to Open, Send and Print the guest checks only. In the demo program, this employee works in the Dinning Room.
21 Server w / Password An employee may be given passwords for access to the workstation and / or the special functions of the workstation. In addition, as an extra security feature employee workstation sign on numbers and passwords may be programmed on a magnetic card. Use this regular server with the password "123" to demonstrate this feature. In the demo program, this employee works in the Dinning Room.
22 Manager w / Password An employee may be given passwords for access to the workstation and / or the special functions of the workstation. In addition, as an extra security feature employee workstation sign on numbers and passwords may be programmed on a magnetic card. Use this regular server with the password "123" to demonstrate this feature. In the demo program, this employee works in all areas of the restaurant.
31-35 Regular Servers These employees are programmed exactly the same as the number 1 employee in the demo program.
