Moneris's Ingenico 3070 PIN Pad supports the Service Code 220, a new code that will be part of the new debit cards that will be issued in preparation for the new EMV standard (Chip and Pin).
These new cards will be sent in spring 2008 for customers in southern Ontario & most credit cards companies will start sending these cards across Canada in the fall of 2008.
All customers currently using the Moneris/NCR solution will require an update of Maitre'D in order to be compliant with Service Code 220.
Any customers using the Moneris/Datacap solution will not require a Maitre'D update but an update of to Datacap DSIClientX version 3.80 will be necessary.
Also, Moneris has introduced a new interface for the Ingenico 3070 to stop the occurrence of the following problem:
It is for the same model of PIN Pad but with the application modified (and some of the prompt table prompts changed) so that a fraud cannot occur. Someone could inject another application into the Moneris PIN Pad that performed the transactions but also stored the PINs so they could be stolen and used fraudulently.
The common error that you would get if you had this new interface would be: "KEY NOT LOADED"
